Food/Exercise log 10/9/09

 I totally overslept today so I missed breakfast and went straight to lunch.  I went shopping today and then I hit the gym.  I did 20 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical.  My head was starting to hurt by the end and I was just praying for the end of the workout.  I burned 500 calories according to my HRM.  I had to change some of the settings including weight and age today on it.  I stretched and then spent a few mins in the steam room since the hot tub was being cleaned.  🙁

lunch:
lean cuisine quesedilla

snack:
pumpkin spice non fat latte 
1 petite vanilla scone

dinner:
leftover salmon and asparagus
steamed veggies with a little 2% mozzarella over it

I will probably have a snack in a while like some yougurt or a luna bar or both since I want to make sure I have had enough calories.

    Hey, can I ask your opinion on something? I own a manual treadmill, which I hardly ever use for two reasons: 1) it's boring and 2) it's very loud so it's hard to watch TV while using it, bringing me back to point 1. Now I just saw that a local store has a dual action elliptical trainer on sale for $180. Is it worth it? I've never used one. I just want something that I'll actually USE.

    I love the elliptical. It is less stress on the knees and joints and w/ dual action you can go forward or backward. I was intimidated and nervous the first time I ever used one but once I got the hang of it I found I really enjoyed it. I prefer the ones without the arm movements just because I find I tire more using the arm movements and I have a harder time keeping my balance for some reason.
    You should go and try it out; most stores will let you check it out to see how you like it first.
