One proud moment

As part of the August Healthy Living/Fitness Blogger Writing Challenge, this is the eighteenth (18th!!!) post in a month long series of posts.

Today’s topic is what has been the proudest moment of your life.  I’m sure that everyone has more than one, so I personally am focusing on just one.

I think I would have to say right now that my proudest moment would be getting into the PhD programme here at the University of Glasgow.  (Right now I have a B.A in Sociology from Clark University, a M.Ed in Elementary Education from Anna Maria College, and a M.Sc in Educational Studies from the University of Glasgow.)  This all from someone who was told by her high school guidance counselor that I may as well go to community college because I wasn’t smart enough to make it at a real school.  Well, I proved him wrong, and that is me being nice. (In my less humble moments my language is far more colourful.)

Now, all I have to do is earn my PhD!  (Eeek!)  🙂

What’s your proudest moment?

It seems like educational accomplishments are most of our proudest moments. I hate hearing that people were told that they shouldn’t go to college. My mother in law was told as a child that she wasn’t good at math and it was a self-fulfilling prophecy. Makes me so mad.

Congratulations on proving that person wrong. Love it!
