The meaning

As part of the August Healthy Living/Fitness Blogger Writing Challenge, this is the twenty-fifth post in a month long series of posts.  (I had a hard time writing this, and I’ve been staring at the blank screen for over 24 hours.)

Today’s Yesterday’s post is to explain the meaning of your blog name.
Neophytegirl started over a decade ago.   It started because in 2001 I went through RCIA and became Catholic. (It’s not something I generally talk about for a lot of reasons.)  Once you complete all the rites of initiation, you are a neophyte, a beginner.  I liked that there was a term for it.  A new being.  With a beginning.  (Too bad I didn’t use that as a reason to rid myself of things that were toxic in my life, even then.)
I wish (like I said in the past) that I had the backups to all of those posts from back then, and even when I recreated the site years later.  I’ve kept it all these years in my hope that the newness will finally take over all aspects of my life, and I can finally be truly happy.

When I first registered my blogs, I had the alias ‘The Novice’ for similar reasons… I liked the idea of perenially having beginner’s luck, and a beginners outlook… you’re never done learning!
