. . . I really miss Target. I miss being able to jump in my car and drive to Target when I need to get something.
Tomorrow, Molly is going to the vet. So I needed to get a cat carrier. (I should have already ordered one, but I got busy/lazy/forgot about it until she went into heat this week)
So today I went to Pets at Home. I took the train. It was a quick walk up to Partick station and then 5 stops on the train (round trip £3, not bad). I got off at Drumry and had no issues finding the store (which is a rarity for me, since I can’t find my way out of a paper bag). I got the cat carrier, a scratching post, treats, and a can of food for her pre-vet meal. Easy peasy, right?
No. I got back to the train station and the train was due in a few minutes. I wait. I wait more. I check the time table and the train should have come. Actually 2 trains should have come. I check online and it says that they were cancelled. Cancelled? Finally there is an announcement saying that there was an accident on the line and there was a delay. More waiting. I checked the Scotrail app and found that all of the trains that were supposed to be coming were marked as not coming and it said the line was closed indefinitely OF COURSE.
I’ve never been to this part of the city, so I had no idea where to get the bus. I knew I could walk home, but it was 5 miles, I was wearing boots and not trainers and my knee was killing. I also really had to pee. So I walked. And walked some more. And finally found a bus stop that was going toward where I live and that it was coming soon. Horray! I even had JUST enough cash too.
So, an hour long trip took me almost FOUR hours. FOUR hours. THIS is why I miss being able to get in my car and go to Target. Of course that would mean that there was a Target in Glasgow, which of course would cost me an arm and a leg as I could never get out of there for under $100.
You may have noticed that I haven’t done the health/fitness challenge the past 2 days. I honestly have to say I actually can’t answer them- which probably means I need to branch out in my life, eh?
Here is Molly with her new toy.
