Day 3: Bucket list

This post is in conjunction with the January blog a day challenge.

My bucket list, below, features things I really want to do.  However, facing the reality of my life right now (where actually getting out of bed/the flat is a daily challenge, I have no idea if I will be able to accomplish a good majority of them unless my current quality of life changes.)  I am being brutally honest here, I’m not trying to have a pity party.  I know part of change means willing to change yourself and put yourself out there barring the circumstances.  Now, if only I could get my brain and my heart to work as one, instead of my brain playing traitor.

  • Get married and have a family (Seriously doubting this one, especially the family part being 37 and all.  And considering my last successful date was 13 years ago . . . .)
  • Move to London. (This all depends on the job market post PhD. I will have to go where the jobs are- those student loans won’t pay back themselves!)
  • Travel to Paris, Hawaii, The Bahamas (anyplace warm and sunny right now sounds perfect!) (This is probably the most realistic!)
  • Run a marathon half marathon (Could happen, I am not ruling this one out.)
  • Write a book.
  • Become a spinning instructor.
  • Learn how to ice skate.
  • Play softball again.

What items are on your bucket list?

Don’t rule anything out. When I married my husband he was 42 😉 A half marathon (even a full marathon) is totally doable. It’s a mental game. You are stronger than you think.

I certainly hope so! Right now it is all definitely mental.

I agree, never rule anything out!

(Also…if I can become a spinning instructor, it should be a piece of cake for you.)

🙂 I certainly can do far better than any of the instructors I’ve had here in Glasgow. It’s never like a ride, it’s more like being yelled at over loud and sometimes questionable music.
