Busy week so far

Despite my new resolution to get up earlier, I still feel like I am not getting everything done I need to get done.  I feel like I have less time.  It’s crazy.

Sunday I was fidgety and decided to go to the gym early instead of waiting for spin class.  I went and did a spin workout that I had on my iPhone for 50 minutes.

Monday was the day I started getting up earlier, granted between 9 and 10 isn’t EARLY by anyone’s stretch of the imagination, but earlier than between 12-2pm.  I got things done and then and went and did a New Rules of Lifting for Women workout at the gym.

  • Barbell Squat:
    • 10 kg x 15 reps  (twice)
  • Push-Up:
    • 15 reps  (twice)
  • Seated Cable Row:
    • 25 kg x 15 reps  (twice)
  • Dumbbell Step Ups:
    • 8 kg x 15 reps || 30 cm  (twice)
  • Reverse Crunch:
    • 10 reps  (twice)

Yesterday I ran some errands with friends, had a nice lunch out, and made some returns as well.  I was sad to return the tops I got at Gap last week, but the scoop necked ones looked funny on me, but the v-neck ones look fine.  Weird.

Despite the good time, I was grumpy because it was POURING and WINDY all day long and by the time I got to the gym I was soaked.  My leggings and skirt were gross.  I need a longer coat.  I’d have worn my raincoat, but it isn’t as warm as my North Face.

Something good happened yesterday.  I got contacted by one of the schools who are interested in helping with my research and I have a meeting there tomorrow.  At 9 am.  Eek!  Getting up at 9 is one thing, but 7?  I am going to have a hard time.

I went to spinning class last night, which was killer.  I literally had charlie horses in my calves but I didn’t let it stop me.  Despite the cramps I still was outriding most of the class, which made me feel good.  (Conceited but good.)

I was pretty sore, so I made sure I wore my compression socks for as long as possible.  I need to get another pair so I can trade off.

Today we got up early again (10 for me, I was tired).  We headed to the gym early for New Rules lifting B.

  • Barbell Deadlift:
    • 40 kg x 15 reps  (twice)
  • Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Press:
    • 6 kg x 15 reps  (twice)
  • Lat Pulldown:
    • 32 kg x 15 reps  (twice)
  • Dumbbell Lunges:
    • 5 kg x 15 reps
    • 7 kg x 15 reps
  • Weighted Exercise Ball Crunch:
    • 10 kg x 10 reps  (twice)

I think tomorrow will a well deserved rest day unless I can get into a spin class.  It all depends on how tired I am tomorrow after my meeting and everything.

Thurs: rest
Fri: New Rules lifting day A
Saturday and Sunday: Spinning
