Day 1 of “Paleo”

Yesterday marked my first day of really going hardcore (as I can) on a Paleo-esque diet.  I call it “Paleo” because I am having dairy and that is technically not Paleo, hence the quotes.

I slept really late yesterday (it was well after noon when I got up).  I didn’t have any coffee made b/c I was out, so I headed to Starbucks to get some ground coffee for my French press and got an iced whole milk latte for myself.  I ran some errands and picked up a salad and some turkey for lunch.  I also had a snack sized piece of cheddar.  Yum!

Later in the afternoon I had a protein shake (I should start taking pictures, huh) while I read blogs and wrote my April goals post.  For dinner I had steamed brussel sprouts, a baked sweet potato, and grilled turkey breast while I listened to the Red Sox kick ass on opening day!  🙂

I felt good all day; I didn’t feel more tired (well I always feel tired) than usual.  For “dessert” I had a mug of ginger and lemon tea with honey.

I hope that the first day is a good omen for the rest of the month!  🙂
