Weekly workout wrap up

I’ve been thinking about the art of running this week, as I’ve run 3 times.  Before attending Write this Run, it never occurred to me that there was a right way and a wrong way of running.  I knew that some forms were better than others, but I figured as long as your off the couch and crossing the finish line that should be good enough, right?

I’ve been trying out some of the techniques from Run With Karen‘s talk, and wow, I fail at running (properly).  My arms are ok, but my feet seem to hardly get up off the pavement. I’m shuffling.  Wednesday when I was out, I watched people running in the park and they all made it look so easy and fluid, even the tweens.  :\  They all look graceful.  I feel as graceful as an elephant in a tutu.

Today at the gym, I positioned myself on a treadmill where I could only see my feet and legs.  The faster I ran the better my legs/feet were.  The slower I ran, the worse I looked.

Everyone starts somewhere.  And this is my somewhere.  In coming days, I should get my gait checked out and make sure I am not doing too many things wrong.

This week was a good week workout wise.  I feel good about it, despite the not so great runs.

      It was awful! I took one bite and threw the rest in the bin. This is why I never cook. I’m a disaster at it!
